After checking the over/under pressures today, I dropped my Cummins 6BTA between the frame rails of the 2-135 for the first time tonight. Everything slid into place and the bolt holes lined up perfectly I'm happy to report! Whew, passed that mile marker. Now I just need to figure out the exhaust routing, air intake mounting, and radiator fan shroud design.

I'll have to post some pics of the 2-155 with the 8.3 in. Just finshed putting it in. We were driving it around Saturday. Sure sounds nice with a 5" straight pipe.

Yes, please post pictures. I'm really interested to see how you got everything hooked up and what an 8.3L looks like in one of these.

It was completely done, but had a tick in the engine even after adjusting the valves. Found a weak valve spring that was walking making noise. Probably from sitting with that valve open. Were gonna replace them all. Hopefully we'll have the parts on Tuesday. I think the 2-155 with the 8.3 turned out better than the 2-105 with the 5.9 that I did. I'll try to post on Tuesday night, if not it will be next weekend.

I've been plugging along this weekend and things have been going together very well. I have a feeling stuffing the 4bt I have into my 1650 won't be quite so easy.

The 6bta that I'm using in the 2-135 was a test engine from Case IH. It's an outlaw engine with no CPL or serial number. The funny thing is it has a Case Inc. tag on the engine, but the mounts are what is used on the Case IH MX170. This engine has 2700 hours on it and ran like a top when I got it. It was running 60lbs of oil pressure at idle, but I decided to take the pan off and check the bearings out just for grins. I was dang glad I did! The funny thing is only 1/2 the bearings looked this way. If I had taken the caps that were ahead of, or behind the one I did take off, I would have bolted it back together and not investigated further. So, I feel your pain!

I designed those mounts up myself. Since I have started lining up engines to do more conversions, and would be willing to sell them, I suppose you could say they are "commercially available" ;)
