third party image

Well I went to "look" at this Moline in Ohio over the weekend, and one thing led to another and well, you see what happened I ended up coming home with two Molines. So I am really glad one of them has a cab cause I may have to be living in it when the wife finds out :-(

So I think I now have more Molines than I do Olivers, I guess I may have to start posting on the Moline board if this keeps up.

Enjoy..

That's a pretty couple of rigs. They're not going to undergo the "Cummins treatment", are they? I bought a Mitsubishi BD2G bulldozer (10,000#)at an auction a couple months ago- then bought a gooseneck trailer (3 axle, 14,000 # payload rated) at the same auction to haul it. Didn't have a truck set up for it, so got a gooseneck hitch put in the '99 Dodge 1 ton Cummins. Went back to the auction site (150 miles away), hooked up the trailer (had to make some hitch adjustments to make it work), lights all worked fine, loaded the dozer and came home. Trip was mostly uneventful, but will admit it would have been a little more pleasant if that trailer had had at least an ounce of brakes! But then, I don't fix up stuff just to take to a sale, either- so can't blame the guy.

Oh no, no Cummins engines here. Those 451ci moline engines just purrr once they get going. They are very low hour tractors the G-955 has just over 3000 hours on it and has been in heated storage for the last 11 years and has not run. I think it has some bad fuel in it now, it is not bringing up RPMs the way it should and is not pulling well and has a lot of black smoke. I think after some new fuel and filters, and some running it will be alright. The engine sounds real good just puttering around.

The G-950 has only 1300 origional hours and looks and runs like the day it came off the assembly line. It does have a steering problem going on that I have to work on though. As soon as you pull on the steering wheel sitting still the circulator pump up front squeels and it will steer very slowly. Once it is moving is will only squeel if you try to turn the wheel fast, as long as you turn slow it will steer fine. Not sure what the issue is there but I am sure I can find it. It has some custom decals on it and is set up as a parade tractor right now. It may stay that way too.....

I am very happy with both tractors and am going to leave them origional.. although they may get to see some use on the farm from time to time, just to keep them in shape :-)

Congrats! Very nice. Since MM and Oliver were kinda like Brother-in-laws late in their history I like em" both too.

Hope the cold shoulder from Mrs. doesn"t last too long. I"ve been there!

If these 2 beauties are the "other woman", your wife should be more than happy. Tell her she'd look great driving one of them.

I'd think she'd be scared for your safety - two big tractors on a gooseneck hooked to a pickup - hopefully a dually, after she threw everything in reach!! The wife and I hauled a 1355 with cab four hours she swore to never go along again, I thought the truck was going to break in half the roads were so ruff. She said on a fuel stop "that tractor's Godzilla and your truck's Tokyo!" I felt sorry for my truck! Nice looking machines - good luck with them!

Oh it was not that bad, the trailer is a 29 foot 12 ton dual tandum and it was hooked to and F-350 ford dually. We actually weighed it on the cat scale as we were coming in and the two tractors weighed just over 24,000# togeather. The load was a little heavy to the truck, we shoulda put the tractor on in the other order, but we pulled sumerset mountain on I-70 in PA at 50MPH, so I thought the ol 7.3 powerstroker did pretty good. You just learn to take you time and not push a bad situation, or push the truck too hard, with a load that heavy.

I think I did hear the ford sigh when I unhooked the trailer today though :-)

I wish that I knew you were going down the turnpike would have liked to see that I would not worry much about pulling the mountian it is going down the other side especially when you go through the tunnel.

Well the farm is not all that far from the turnpike, you will just have to come down in virginia sometime and see them.

I know what you mean about being able to stop all that load, that is the most important part.. That nasty turn right after the tunnel is what I dont like, if you didnt know that was there you would run into it too fast and be in trouble.

Actually the truck has an engine air brake and I left it in 6th gear all the way down and it held it to 60 mph all the way down after the tunnel through the turns and I only had to hit the brakes a few times through the turns. The truck and trailer have very good brakes and the load never once pushed me that hard.

I can see the tunnels from the house when the leaves are off the trees here. They look nice if you are into yellow. Green here but a 1/4 mile over the hill here are some Molines. They have a show out the road that dad and the guy with the molines started 5 years ago in June. 140 tractors last year here from God"s country and this year they are featuring Oliver"s. Looks good and hope that the cab has a heater.

If she gets mad, just tell you that you were thinking of her the whole time. That"s why you got two of them, a "His" and "Hers" set and that she would really look good driving one of them.....

Wait. I"ve tried that line before and it didn"t work for me either.

Those look real good. My wife"s Italian blood would be ready to boil at the site of those coming to our home. Big one has the same cab as my 2255. Not too bad, keeps the rain and wind off. That 955 wants a pair duals and go to the field for a day with some fresh fuel and the filters, that will get her going smooth.
