We have the top hydraulic cover off on our tractor. it was cracked and letting water in and we also had a problem with no hydraulic pressure. Had to rev it up almost full throttle to make it lift. Now I recall someone saying something about removing a splash guard to let something get more oil. I also think I may be in need of a hydraulic pump. Any good sources out there? Thanks in advance..

I removed the splash guard on my 2150. It's a good idea to remove it. It can prevent oil from adequately lubricating the bearings and ruin the entire cast rear end housing. For compete details call Maibach Tractor 1-800 808 9934. They helped me identify it. Good luck, it's relatively easy to remove with the cover off.

When I needed a hydraulic pump for my 1950 I inquired through this forum and was directed toward Farmersville Implement in PN. Don't remember the guy's name at the dealership but he explained to me the difference between the American made pumps he sold and the cheaper Chinese built pumps the other places sold. Bottom line is pay a little more for a better made pump. The hydraulic pumps in my opinion were always a weak link on the otherwise dependable Olivers.
