The PTO engagement lever on the 540 has a little clip with a Spring on it that appears to hold it up from falling down (forward). THe clip rests against a stop mounted with two bolts on the side of the tractor. There is a Spring that holds the clip down so it naturally hooks on the stop. When I attempt to engage the pto (pull the clip up and move the lever forward, the spring is in between the clip and the stop and prevents it from moving forward past the stop. Is this one assembled incorrectly or is there something I am missing as how to engage the live pto lever? THanks

Here's a pic of the PTO in gear. Spring is in between the lever and catch, without getting in the way.
