Thanks for the help with an engine for my Oliver 1800. I need to know if a Cummin's 5.9 diesel out of a Dodge truck is the same as the one you suggested, B5.9L, and will it fit? Don

Don as far as I know the older ones are one in the same maybe you could get one from a wrecked truck.My friend that did this conversion did it with a 1655.Now the 1655 is or has a narrow frame then its larger brethen so with using a 2-140 bellhousing(dont know why this is the one he said he had to use)I dont see any other problems that dont normally pop up during any engine conversion.You also might want to look at how the engine sits in the pickup(one that is not wrecked)I am not a engineer but I have read somewhere that there are reasons why some engines are tilted at certain angles and it does affect how engines run.(if you dont believe me ask a ford engineer what happened to the 4.6l v8 when they tried to put it in a truck the first time the engine would miss till they relized that it was lower on one side)Good luck also in another post B.A Starr talked of a dealer in Neb that he said have done a ton of these conversions I think it might be under a topic on 453 detroit back a few pages you might want to give them a call.
