Yep them were the daze we plowed 6 in deep called it 8 ,looked nice and away we go. We had a lot of varied soil so we pulled 4-16 with our 880 real, real; slow on the clay and 5th gear in the MUCK thrown a furry wide nuf to put duels in

Not any different than adds for a late 2 cylinder Deere as in 720 or 730. Also in this neighborhood I can go 10 miles south and 2-16's were a good load for an Oliver Super 88. If I would have turned right and gone 10 miles the other way most tractors of a Super 88 size pulled 4-14's. Totally different soil, good soil for vegtables!

you have to remember the times, all manuf. over rated what they had. most 880's never seen a 5 bottom plow. As a kid we farmed a lot of black prairie soil and pulled 4-16 with our 880D. Well we had a Power traction hitch so as a teenager with no common sense bro and I hooked the 566 5-16 on the 880 with every wieght we could find on the farm and yes it pulled it (in 3rd gear with lots of smoke and a HOT radiator) well we soon finished our experiment and hooked back onto the 4 bottom

I hooked a pull type nine shank chiesel to mine if you put the plow wheels in the air that's what the front wheels did also, but she pulled it pretty good in second and third. I've got a semi-mount five-sixteens plow, I wouldn't dream of pulling that thing in my clay ground. I have the same brochure, actually get a kick out of it every time I see it!!
