We have a problem with the brakes on our 770 seizing up. We took the cover off and cleaned everything up not once, but twice. The brake discs are good. We don't use the tractor much at all. On the way home from the july 4th parade. got to the end of a road in town, and had to back up to unlock them. When we got out of town we got about 3/4 of the way home, and they slowly kept getting tighter until the tractor started dying. They got so hot the paint on the brake drums was bubbling. If some one could tell me what is going on we would really appreciate it. THANKS!! P.S. also wondering who makes a complete carb kit that has EVERYTHING to rebuild a marvel shebler carb for a 770.

Another thing could be weak springs on the actuator.

Is it possible that one of the studs has work out and is causing the brake to drag. If this happens the brake will not release until you back up. When it happenned to me the brake seemed fine until I hit the brake and then sometimes it would not release but kept geting more drag. Other times the brake worked fine. What happenned is one of the studs was sticking out too far. Turned the stud in some and all was fine.
