Was there ever any stand-alone sales literature produced for the White / Oliver 1870 and 2270 tractors? The only sales information I have come across on these tractors is in the back of the 55 series tractor sales booklet and in the 1973 WFE catalogue. In both cases the details on the two tractors is pretty sparse.

The 1870 is the same identical tractor as the G-955 except for the paint and decals.  The 2270 is the same idendtical tractor as the G-1355 again except for the paint and decals.

There was information published under the heading "Power Pointers" that was sent to the dealers for product information.  1870 is form PP-4-5 (14 pages) & 2270 is form PP-4-7 (15 pages).  Both have illustartions and photos with complete specifications and are printed in black & white.

I was always under the impression that those two 70 series were sold in Canada only. A man not too far from here has or had a 2270 he purchased in Florida and it was painted like an Oliver. I told him I didn't think any were green and white when new and sold on this side of the border. Is that correct or was I way off. J.

Duane, Thanks for posting the information on the Power Pointers. I was going to use information from the two forms that you listed but there is no mention of the Oliver G955 or Oliver G1355 tractors.

I do have a question for you. When White introduced new Oliver tractors and equipment, they used what they called "Sales Notes". The Sales Notes format was used up to and including 1973. Also, when White introduced new Minneapolis Moline tractors and equipment, they used what they called "Product News". The product news format was used up to 1970, when they introduced the big engine in the 1350.

Now my question. Was the "Power Pointers" format that was used on the G955/1870 and G1355/2270 the replacement for the above sales notes/product news? If so, was that used up to 1980 when White Motor went out of business, or did they use yet another format? Thank for your reply.

I will answer your question as close as I can, with the information I have. I don't know everything about this subject, so if anyone has any other information, I welcome their posting it.

The way you asked your question I know you are quoting Canadian brochures.

I do not believe there were any Oliver brochures printed on Oliver 1870/2270's because those tractors were sold as Oliver and Minneapolis Moline G 955's and G 1355's in the United States. However, the same tractors were sold in Canada and Australia as the 1870's and 2270's.

There was a brochure printed on the White 1870 in Canada and another one printed in Australia on the same tractor. These brochures were simular, but have different pictures on the front cover. The same applys to the 2270, simular brochures with different covers printed in the two countrys.

I welcome any other information anybody else has on this subject.
