Do all the front end loaders on the 550s require a seperate hydraulic pump? Can the pump for the 3 pt hitch be tapped and used? Also I have a spare 550 transmission in pretty decent shape for sale. I don't know what its worth but all the gears and bearings look great. I purchased it for the pto assembly.

This is my loader set-up, although I only have upward (one-way) lift on the loader and nothing on the bucket (trip). The rear hoses are for a log splitter.

Your remote valve will supply your hydraulic power for the loader.

How much weight are you normally lifting? Also how/where did you tap into the 3pt hitch pump?
Thanks :D

Do you have a remote valve for a training cylinder. Remember lifting abality is going to be proportional to the size of the loaders lift cylinders. More questions? J

That should have been trailing (remote) cylinder. J.

I have an Allied 300 loader on mine. It works fine running on the tractor"s hyd. pump. Main loader cylinders are a slow as J. commented, but the smaller bucket cylinders are plenty fast.
Good Luck.

The 550 pump can be used, however it does not set the world on fire as far as GPM's go. So if you use it tie the handle back and maybe even get off and streach so to speak while the loader goes up. Get the idea. Determine what size cylinder you have (bore & stroke) what speed you want to run theengine and the nhow many seconds you want it to take to completely extend the lift cylinders. Then we can calculate what GPM pump you need. Questions? J.
