Going to look at an Oliver 1850 diesel tomorrow.

Anything I should be looking out for specifically? I know they normally have a PTO issue, but from what I've read, it's repairable.

Other than obvious leaks, tire condition,2 or 3 speed operation(whichever it has),look for alot of blow-by from crankcase breather, full throttle engine flutter which makes it seem like it's missing,PTO operation, and starting.
Run it through all the gears, check trans and hydraulic fluids.Trans dipstick is behind engine on LH side and hydraulid dipstick is between your legs on platform.

Ask the guy not to start it before you look at at or come earlier than you tell him.If the engine is warm when you get there,go back home. Usually means a hard starter, although Perkins engines are generally easy starters in cold.

Good tractors!

Take your time and ask alot of ???'s ~brad
