I have a 1755 ollie with a loader. I noticed the power steering started to act up and then suddenly the pump started to make noise and I lost most of my hyd. to my loader. Steering wants to free wheel to the left, but is restricted to the right. The only time I have good Hyd. to my loader is when is turn my steering all the way to the left and hold it. Is this my steering pump under the dash or something else.

If you have a chrome sprocket looking piece in the center of the steering wheel, it's the early saginaw steering. they are notorios for going bad and parts for the closed center version are not available. the best thing to do is convert it over to the char-lynn used in the later 55 series and the whites.

This is a early 1755. It has origingal GM hydral motor. I change filter and oil twice a year because of loader use. What next?

First of all is this an early or late 1755? Does your tractor have the belt driven cooler pump? Do you have any idea if you have the original steering unit(Gm hydramotor) or the later type? When is the last time you changed the hydraulic fluid, hydraulic filter? Explain this noise, is it worse when the tractor is first started and the oil is cold? Your turn: J.

I had about the same thing happen on my 1020 Deere. Closed center hydraulics like the 1755. I had to hold the steering wheel all the way to the stop before the loader would work. It was the steering hydramotor on that one. Oil was shooting through one of the spools in the hydramotor and was bypassing the other hydraulic functions.

Did you check your hydraulic oil? The hydraulic filter may be restricted also. I would check these two things first before jumping any conclusions.
