I bought an 880D out of north central Oregon in about 1982- it had a homemade plywood cab, and after driving it, I told the dealer I'd buy it, if he removed the cab. After he couldn't talk me into it, he smiled and took a $5 bill out of his wallet and handed it to nearby salesman. He said, "Bill, here, bet me 5 bucks that that tractor would never leave the lot with that cab on it!". After it was delivered, I used it for plowing and discing, and really liked it. A neighboring dairyman talked me out of it, as he needed a big ole horse to pull a manure wagon up a steep hill on his place- all the smaller rigs would just spin out. He resold it to another dairyman a few miles away, who did a lot of work on it, and used it for traveller irrigation systems. I was talking tractors with a local tractor jockey yesterday, and he mentioned he had a couple of Olivers- a 77, and another "bigger one, don't know the model"- started comparing notes, and its my old 880. Believe I'll try to talk him out of it- I have some old pasture ground to plow, and I think it would fit the bill just fine.
