The 600 (and 500) Olivers were both actually David Brown tractors- I think the 500 was a DB 885, and the 600 was a DB 990. Looking at the DB 990 serial numbers on this site, your serial no. is correct for a 1963 David Brown 990, so I assume you have an Oliver 600. Pretty rare bird, and I guarantee you'll never find an Oliver dealer who has even heard of them, much less has any parts. David Brown is actually a Case (not Case-IH- that was later), so to find parts, try the Case board, and look for parts for David Brown 990.

Pretty close. The 500 was a DB 850,600 was a 950,prior to the 990. They claim CaseIH dealers are still a source for parts for them.

The serial number matched up with the 990 list. Hadn't heard of the 850 or 950.

I'm just going by the article that was in HPOCA about them. I think the 950 and 990 were the same, but Oliver imported them before David Brown had a dealer network for them in the US. Once they got their foot in the door through Oliver, they established one, that's why there were so few 600s imported and why Oliver went to Fiat. That's what the article said anyway. A neighbor here bought a new 500,but the only 600 I ever saw was sitting in a jockeys lot north of West Plains Mo a few years back.

In the mid '70's, the local IH dealer had an Oliver 500 he took in on trade, and that thing must have sat around on the lot for 2 years. It was in pretty good shape, but the chief salesman for the lot was a former Oliver dealer, who's opinion was well respected, and he didn't have anything good to say about the tractor. I probably could have bought it for 500 bucks, but on second thought, I'm sure the salesman would have talked me out of it. Another local Ford tractor dealer also took on the David Brown line, and sold a ton of them- still a lot of DBs around here, 30 years later.
