I need an injector pump for my oliver 1265 pump or some good advice about how to repair mine without spending $750 plus labor. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

What is the pump doing or what is the engine doing to make you think its the pump?

Hi Farmer,

The 1265 is running again as of an hour ago. I found a diesel guy who came over and did a more thorough job of bleeding than I had and it ran. The test will be when I put it under load again like I was doing when it quit. It just quit in about two revs. My guy says it probably just got a slug of water or air somehow but he says it can also have something to do with the oil/fuel interface seals inside the injector pump. If trouble occurs again I will definitely be getting back to you and Marc about how to fix pumps. Thanks for your offers. Lee @ Elk Mound

I have been rebuilding all my CAV pumps myself. Believe it or not they are not hard. Just have to be clean, you can"t put them back together wrong. Heck taking it off the tractor is the hardest part. Can I ask what is wrong with yours?? And are you sure it is the pump.. Marc

Marc,

Thanks for your very prompt reply. I'm not sure what is wrong with the pump but I'll know more by tomorrow noon as I'm having an acquaintence of mine come over to examine it. It may not be the pump at all for all I know--I was born under the wrong star concerning engines. If you don't mind, if my friend pronounces it a defunct pump I'll get back to you. It would be cool if I could fix it or have my friend fix it without the price quoted by the local diesel place. Thanks alot again. Lee @ Elk Mound.
