Why are 1650 top links so hard to find? I cannot even find a parts tractor? Are all of these rigs still running? None have been sent to the bone yard?

Frustrated in FLA!
PS - we are also freezing, it was down to 18 last night in Sanderson, FL.

You can widen your search to include the Super 66, 77, 88, 660, 770 & 880 with the "Heavy Duty" three point hitch. They all use the same part number as what you are looking for.  although they are probably hard to find since not many had the three point hitch.

Nope. The top link on the 1550-55's, 1600-55's, and White 2-70's are unique to only those 6 models. It's a u-shaped bracket that mounts with 2 5/8 or 3/4" pins on the top of the drawbar bracket, and then a shorter turnbuckle connects to that and hooks to the implement.

Here's a picture of mine for the 1600 in primer. It has a ball socket that screws into the end yet, but that is galvanized so I unscrewed it for the paint. third party image

They are findable, but due to their size(and weight), shipping is spendy. Call any midwest salvage yard and they'll set you up.

I'm sure lots of them stay behind on the farm when the 1550-55, 1600-55 and 2-70's are sold or traded, and then many years later the guys figure they don't need them anymore and throw them on the scrap heap.

They come up once in a while on ebay, but between the shipping and the amount of bidding on them, you could easily drop over $200 for a used one. We've still got the one for my 1600, and I sure ain't getting rid of it. Once in a while we actually use the 3pt hitch on it. If you happen to need some cat. 2 balls on the other hand, I've got several pair I can sell that I had made up.

There is a whay to make a bracket and then use a regular toplink I think they talked about it on here when some one was wanting to put a post hole diger on there 1650 or some simular tractor may be abel to look in the arkives as long as you are wanting to use the 3pt insted of showing it
