Does the tractor have anything mounted on it, like a blade, mower, broom, or some special attachment? Most likely that is a serial number plate/specification plate for some attachment that was mounted on the tractor when it was new.

This is only a guess on my part.

Years ago I drove semi for a large foundry. Even though I didn't work in the foundry, I know they kept detailed records on all the machines. The factory that had the tractor might have kept simular records. The numbers could ???? be intrepid as follows:

BC = the name of the owner. (Could be owned by the factory or it could have been a leased unit)

2-52 = Date put in service.

5376 = Unit number shown in the factory records.

Like I said this is only a guess on my part. Maybe someone else can come up with other ideas.
