I need the rubber hose that connects the air cleaner to the carb for my 550. Anybody have a source for these?
Thanks.

I stand corrected, Thanks AB. Still might want to try your auto parts store and match up your angles with available replacement hoses. Should be something that will get you close.

You give good advice, if he can get close and make do that would be fine. It is a different application than a straight hose like a 60. A good old fashioned auto parts store might be able to help. We have 5 550's of various years, fuels, models. The hose from air cleaner to carb sits real close to exhaust manifold/muffler. The hose gets hot and brittle from that heat and that is where the failure is.
I replaced two of these hoses last year on 550's that we restored - a early model and late model and they took different part numbers and were configured just a little differently. So that is why I told him to have his Serial # handy. I can say this - from Agco they are not cheap! @ $30 if I remember right.

I have found that my local auto parts store had bulk radiator hose that worked perfect and had "correct" look as well. Just need I.D. of the hose and a general length.

That would work on a 60 but a 550 has some unique angle/curves in the hose.

There are variations of hoses for this based on year of your tractor. Get your serial number handy for reference. Your AGCO dealer, AgPartsFirst, Korves, & other vendors can get you the hose.

Since you are talking about hoses from air cleaner to carb, I have a question. I have seen some that have had a flexible hose put on instead of original smooth hose. The ones that are smooth on each end and ribbed in the center like a tube under a road. Does the ribbing inside cause the air flow to be restricted? Just curious. Chris

I'm with you on this thinking. Ribbed plastic and/or galvanized culverts in our County are being replaced with smooth piping. I see some of that flexible ribbed hosing on older tractors, like steel wheeled HP's and such. I believe original type hose is not available for alot of those applications and that is why the flexible kind is being used..
