I think I know where this is going. Here are my 2 cents worth on the 880. This discussion took place in the fall of 1960 at the Columbus branch while the tractor was there for the Power Booster rebuild program. We worked on one mist green 880 and it was a propane model. My forman who at that time worked for engineering at Charles City told us that there had been some discussion to paint all 880's a slightly different color to distinguish them from the 770 models. It was not well received and the idea was dropped. Now one thing I don't remember for sure was if these mist green tractors were introduced to the dealers at a showing to also promote the new hel;ical gear transmission. It seams that was also in the conversation. Just one more thing that were not important 47+ years ago. For the man that has the 660 and 770 with the mist green paint I would like to have the serial numbers. Also remember Oliver did not always uses the same vendors for paint.
