Im in the middle of rebuilding the narrow front end on one of our 77rc"s. Does anyone know if the felt seal on the bottom of the pedestal is available anywhere? Has anyone used a metal/rubber oil seal in its place? I know the manual calls for 90wt oil in the steering gear box, but it seems like even if everything was new and perfect, it would still tend to leak thru the felt...It seems like grease would be fine for the little I will be running it...What does everyone think? Thanks in advance

We have grease in the gear box on three Olivers and have no problems at all. Works great and no leaks! I would check with an Agco dealer or Korves Oliver or Ag Parts First for the seal.
