I am having the same problem on an NAA. It's been repacked and still leaks. Anybody know if there replacement parts available and where?

If re-packed with the correct number and sequence of packings, this almost can't leak. You can tighten the cap and compress the packings enough to keep the empty loader from going down. Oil could maybe get past a badly pitted or scared rod, but you'd notice this. If you can feel the cap tighten against the housing, you don't have the packings right.

Bob, oil through the threads? That's aluminum on steel...almost can't happen. Repacking is cheap and easy but messy. DON'T tighten the cap if you can feel it bottoming on the housing...I've broken a cap by doing this and I'm just a little guy.

I get my packings and seals in Denver from Rocket Seals, a complete supply house for this sort of stuff. Their equivalent is in every sizable city in the country.

The hour glass looking thing *is* the cap. Tightening it squeezes the packings and creates more seal force. When the packings are old/worn or incorrect the cap will bottom out on the housing and further tightening does no good; risks breaking the cap.
