What is the maximum load that can be safely lifted with a rear boom on an 8N? I do not want to damage myself or the tractor. Thank You for your input.

I need to buy a Boom Lift for fixing power lines and which can make holes in the ground for the poles and pull the poles up. I need it to be able to do lots of different jobs. I need about 10 vehicles brand new to send to Vietnam. If you have any please email me back as soon as possible with all the detials. I need a company in Australia because I live in Australia and its easier to get in contact with this company. Thank you very much.

Mike,I have a 2N and I push the safety valve to get the 8N pressure.
The maximum capacity on the 2 lower point is around 450 Kg.
Basically this load is the load witch balance the front wheels weignt.
Depending the boom you use but in any case you cannot break something on your tractor.
I made a boom and test it with 450 Kg the front wheels just touch the ground.I cannot lift more.
Regards.
Daniel

I used mine to lift the 5' diskharrow out of the pickup. The 16x18 weighs about 485lbs and I was able to barely get it out of the truck. I thought I had cleared the truck but my help could not get the tail gate closed and out of the way to lower the load so I preceeded to lift it all the way up but forgot I had placed the gear back in 1st (though I was in neutral), well, I did a slight wheelie before I could shove the clutch in again and stand on the brakes.

I think the 485 lbs out there on the end of the boom was just about the limit! I was on level ground also. Be careful with these things!

I bought a new boom from KingKutter for $57 and it is sufficient to pick up our 2 bottom 14" moldboard plow (guessing this unit weights about 400 lbs)to put it into the back of my pick-up at the outer most hook, but I wouldn't want to lift much more than that with our 8N. Have used it to pull up fence posts with no problem. Just have to be careful.

Thanks again, I just hope the check valve is up to par. Any way to check it?

The way I understand it, the pressure releive valve will kick in long before the front end will lift. Now moveing with a heavy load is a different story, if ya get the load sway'n, you can very easily lift the front end so take it slow and use your head !

later,dave

As much as you can until the front wheels of the tractor come off the ground.
