Recently bought a '52 8N. Has a couple of minor problems.
1. The sedement bowl/shut-off valve leaks. Would like to know if there is an easy way to repair it or should I just replace it.
2. The ORC wobbles. Is it repacement time?

Check ya
Chuck

I own a 8-N Ford tractor...I need the power take-off assembly...I must have a 1 1/18" I cannot use a larger one.... because the tractor already has an adapter on it. If you know where I can find one please let me know.

Thank you.

Dell is the ORC preacher, so I'll leave that one alone. As for the sediment bowl leaking, there is a gasket/screen (rebuild kit), for this that costs less than $5.00. Buy it and rebuild and all your troubles will be solved. My experience is that you probably have no gasket to seal too and could strip your post or crush your bowl by over-tightening.

If the valve is leaking around the stem I beleive (without looking)that it has a nut that can be tightened to compress a packing. Matts right, Their not expensive..

Yup, the nut can be tightened to stop stem leaks. If you decide to replace, be very careful about cross threading the new valve during installation. Good luck.

Chuck, 1. Replace it. I got one from a New Holland dealer for about $15. Be sure to drain the tank before you remove the old one. 2. Yes, it's replacement time. Right, Dell(WA)?
