I have set up a little web page with the pics I took of my 12 Volt conversion on my 52 8N. The page is pretty plain right now, but I wanted to get it up and running quick so everyone could see one way to do the alternator bracket and such.

Let me know what you think...

Brian

Brian,
What are you using to tension the belt with? I used a modified toggle bolt on my Fergie installation, but I know the 8N is different in that area.

I used a piece of strap, and cut a long slot in it with the cutting torch, then ground it out so that it was smooth. One end bolts to the same bolt where the original tension adjustment was on the generator, and the bolt on the alternator goes into the slot to adjust the belt tension. Not as hard to make as I thought it would be, and it works pretty well. When it was finished, it looked almost like a factory made part :-)
