Tyler, If you dont have ignition or fuel flow problems, it might be just the nature of the beast (I mean updraft carburetors). My 8N also likes a little pull on the choke each time it is started, warm or not. That means just hold the choke until it rolls over once and catches. If I dont use the choke, it may take quite a bit of cranking. Not always, but enough so I just use the choke and crank only once. I also have a Briggs powered Simplicity garden tractor with an updraft carb that acts the same way. After running hard for an hour or more it may catch without the choke after turning over several times; use the choke and it catches on the first roll. Years ago I had an old 4 cylinder Chevy car (with an updraft carb) that also acted the same. My dad told me his 31 Model A also liked a little choke to start (warm or cold). I think that older, low compression engines, especially those that are a little worn, just dont create the necessary vacuum through an updraft carb to pull in the fuel unless the choke is pulled. All that said, I suppose a rebuild of the engine and carb may solve the problem, but I can live with a little pull on the choke when starting. Good luck with yours. David
