hi i'm looking for info on how to install the trick resitor.

a pic. would be great. should i keep them away from the frame and should they be soldered or can i use but-connectors.

on another topic i have an old 6volt coil that i would like to convert to round can but it has a solid core and i'm not quite sure how to remove the fill without damaging the inside, any help would be great.

Actuall it that wasn't that hard to clean out, I soaked overnight in gas (outside) and the next day I was able to pry out 90% in one chunk.

Building isn't the problem..... ..... ..getting the rock hard epoxy out is the problem. Drilling, dremel, chisel, huors of tedious work, not to break the case.

Build it back in minutes.

P prefer solder connections.. but good crimp on but connectors work fine.. just put a bit of grease ont he wires before crimping to 'seal inthe freshness'.. (wink)

Mount power resistors in places where they cannot damage 'meltable' parts.

If your coil potting is epoxu, you can try torching it out.. good luck.

Epoxies give off some toxic fumes during the cure.I wouldnt heat cured epoxy. Some people get senitized to epoxies and have to give up using them.

If he wants it out.. he has very few choices.. I agree.. he shouldn't do this in his living room with his head down over the melting resen inhailing the fumes as they come up.. but between the torch and a chissle.. hell have to get that potting out of there if he wants to gut that can.. His choice.
