Just purchased a 2n and I really like it. I have a toubleshooting question on the hydraulics. I mowed with it today for about an hour and stopped for some refreshments. The system worked fine raising and lowering while I mowed. When I started back up after a break, I raised the mower and went to mow again. The lift would not lower, I kept mowing since it was pretty high but the lift would not lower or raise,it seem to be stuck. After maybe 5 minutes of running the lift finally became unstuck and resumed working as normal. This problem has happened several times but only after I stop the tractor. Does any of the N-brotherhood have any ideas or answers? Any help would be great. Also does anyone know who sells add on running boards for the 9N/2N?

The control valve is sticking. It can be from dirty oil and it can be caused by the spring that connects between the end of the ram cylinder and the control valve rods becoming loose. Or loosing it's tension.

Remove the right side inspection plate. Remov the spring and it there is enough room at the end if the spring cut off about one inch and then make a new hook on it and replace or find a spring that will have more tension so it can move control valve even if it wants to stick.

Thanks for your help? Zane or Jay What oil would you suggest using in the hydraulic system/gear box? Presently I believe there is 80 or 90 w gear oil in it. The oil seems to be clean. I just want to get her hydraulics fixed. She's a beauty, even though she is twice as old as I am. I love older ladies.
