I had fill delivered a month ago to fill in a mud wallow. It has been so rainy since the fill was delivered I could not get out there to push it around. I finally could not stand it any longer and had to hook up the box blade and begin landscaping. I really like the box blade better than the backblade. I bought a 6 foot box blade from farm and country... dont know how I lived without one for so long. Anyways after a couple of hours of pulling dirt around and almost getting the 8N stuck a couple of times I decided to change the transmission oil. I changed it last year but noticed a little water had got in.. so it was time to change it again anyway. I did the kerosene flush trick this time. My pto seal leaks a little ... kero ran out pretty fast! Going to call for seal parts tomorrow and maybe a new shifter boot. I used the 134 fluid in it last time but decided to go to the 80 90 W this time. Thanks to all of you guys out there asking and answering questions.. you really help more people than you know. I just got back from my place in the country, where I am incommunicado :-) no phone, tv or internet. So I a m trying to "ketch up"!

Bill, did you get that gulley washer last Saturday (5/26) like we did at my place - 12mi south of Front Royal, VA. I started at 10PM and I think we had over three inches in a half an hour - it was like having a lake poured down you! Also got a lot of pea sized hail, so much so that it was still around two days later in spots where it accumlated.

Monday, Decoration Day, I noticed the neighobors brother in law shoveling by hand the gravel that had washed into the street. When over and said, "I'd rather use mechanica muscle on that type job. Why don't you wait and I'll go see if I can start my tractor that has the blade on it."

Now the last time I tried to start it, when I opened the tank valve no gas came into the sediment bowl. I checked the gas and it was low so I quit as I had other things to do to get ready to go to Iowa. On the way there, I decided it was the "infamous" "plugged filter inside the tank!" And I was not looking forward to cleaning it.

With the neighbor needing help, I decided I should take a chance and fill the tank, figured it would run over the top of the plugged filter. That worked, so I was able to do in a half an hour what the B-I-L would have had to take all day to do.

Now it's someone elses turn to "banter",
Larry

Larry,

We lucked out and did not get real heavy weather. Just enough rain to keep the low parts of the field in water... right where I had to work!
I am over on the Eastern Shore.. Chincoteague Island. My wife has mentioned Front Royal area a couple of times as there is some sort of horse event that goes on there that she wants to attend.

Weekend before last I used the box blade/ripper unit to rip and grade my side lot for a landscaping project. I cut a new driveway entrance and sculpted the proposed lawn area. Last weekend the tractor rested while I planted 22 trees. A new personal record and I wish I had not passed on that auger I was looking at a few weeks ago. Next weekend I will reset the fine grade and get ready for sod.
I love this kind of banter.

We bought a 5 1/2 foot Atlas Box Blade with 4 ripper teeth, Asked myself the same question how did we go so long without getting one of these..much better at scraping the driveways here at shop..took it over to new shop to skim the big rocks off the top of the lot there. Have a TerraBond 6 foot spreader grader on order...its made like a box scraper but the two cutting edges face foward and are both angled can`t wait to try this one. As for the banter it adds to the personality of this Board as long as it dosent get to the piont of dominating the conversation its ok by me

Bill-
This was some good "banter," the kind of thing that makes it all interesting.
