Can anyone tell me the purpose of the Schrader type valve stem that is installed on the intake manifold of my 1946 2N above the carb.? I cannot find anything on it in the manuals that I have. Thanks- Steve

Hi Steeve

When I was kid my father used it to operate
cow milking machine when at remote areas or when
power failures. If I remember a good shape engine
produces enough vaccuum to operate 2 machines.

May be other uses too.....

vacuum operated windshield wipers? (grin)

Ford was big on vacuum operated stuff. Actually, never used on N-Tractors but can be used as vacuum port for other engine applications.

Its one of those, once its been designed in, even if we never use it, its cheaper to leave it in than to change all those drawings and procedures..... ..Dell
