Hello, I recently rebuilt the carb on my 8n. All the pieces went where they were supposed to as per the instructions. I am left with one piece that was not mentioned in the instructions. Can someone tell me where a little white felt washer goes and does it effect performance. Thanks.

MayneIsland..... ...yep, yer white felt "washer" is the seal for your choke shaft as it comes thru the throat of yer M/S carb. There should also be a metal washer between the choke lever and the seal. While it won't "degrade" yer carb performance per-se, it is good to stop dirt from being sucked in thru the shaft passage. Filtered air is good for carburators, it lengthens the life of the engine..... .Dell
