How's your landscape project going?

I finally got a chance to use my KK rake this weekend. I disc'd a while back, but the weeds started to grow back. I didn't want to rent a disc again, so I just used my middle buster on two small plots (about an acre total). I used my box scraper to "smooth" things out (it was very BuMpY)...lots of rocks left over. THEN the rake.

WOW!

It was like someone smeared Miracle Gel all over it! To be honest, I didn't think the rake would work all that well (neither did Mrs. 8N.) I think I'm gonna like using this implement.

later!

I just got a rake also, a York TA2. It's a little on the small side 6ft. But it's real heavy and really seems to work well. I leveled out an area that I just had bulldozed. I couldn't believe it. It pulled up the roots and did a great job smoothing it out. It's the type with wheels behind the rake. It seems to grade real well with the wheels. It was a new rake that the dealer had left outside for a couple of years so it was a little rusty and the tires where flat. I got it for $600.00 I don't know if I got ripped off or not.

Thanks Richard, sounds like you got a good deal.I was thinking of going with the 7' myself, seems to pull a 7' blade well enough.

Hey Dave, how would that rake work on long pine needles? It should beat droping the blade and raking them up.

My guess is that it'd work ok on pine needles. If you were raking on grass, it might gouge the lawn some. Watch out for trees!

Well that's good news Dave, since that info you gave me and the checking around, I'm leaning towards buying one myself. I've been wanting one for quite a while, maybe I have enough work for it now to justify buying one. As good as Miracle Gel huh? I better make some phone calls, we all know what Miracle Gel can do. As for the landscaping, I'm actually building some new roads, and doing some landscaping around the garden. It was fun till the rain came back. Thanks again ,Dave, have fun with the rake.
