My tractor does not have a "King" pin with an elongated head. Mine is totally round, approxiamately 4 5/16 " long and 1 3/4 " in diameter. There is a threaded hole thru the top of the forward portion of the axle support that attaches the pin in place rather than into the front of the support. Also my support appears to have an addition plate attached to the front of the support with rivits. Needless to say I have been unable to find this pin and can use any assistance that anyone maybe able to provide. It appears that the pin with the elongated head is the same diameter and approxiamately the same length. I may try modifing this pin. Sorry for the length of the post. Once again, any help or suggestions will be appreciated. DaveJ-OH

I had the same problem at rebuild time.
I found a pin at the FNH dealer with the correct length,(they are a little longer than the 2/8N style)and had the flange removed and drilled a center hole for the locating bolt. It has the O.E opening in front.

Dave-
I've got a '41 that also had the regular pin w/ the tapered bolt from the top. I tried unsuccessfully to find one, and finally had the local machine shop cut me one from a solid shaft. Cost me 15 bucks.

Now before I start getting hollered at, I realize I wont be able to use a front mounted pump or a hand crank. I've had the old girl for ten years and have never needed to use the front pully for anything other than the belt. My '41 had a home made spline plate bolted to the front of the pulley and I pulled it off when I rebuilt her two months ago.

If you're SURE you'll never need to attach anything to the front, go with a solid pin. If you have ANY reservations, keep looking for a replacement. I never could find one.

Yes, I checked with Don!

Mikey, appreciate the come back. If I can't come up with one soon I think I am going to get a pin with the elongated head and remove the head. As near as I can determine the pin is the same diameter and the length is almost the same. If that does't work then I will go with a solid pin. Dave
