Re: codes found on my 1951 8N "Nellie" (serial # 419915)Thanks to Jim UT for an archived post about a clear date on the bottom of the hydraulic pump housing. Mine says 9-18-51 which translates as September 18, 1951. The block tag (next to starter pocket) says NH 20. From previous posts it says to ignore the N, so then I have H 20, which I translate as August 2, 1950 (H=Aug, 2=day of month, 0=year). The forward facing number on the right trumpet is 1121. Is this Nov 2, 1951? I can't read the number on the left trumpet at all.
My front axle/spindles both have codes. The right front is C1L, and the right front has FC1. Ican't make head nor tails of those letter/number combinations. And the carb tag has TSX 241 b, which I remember is the model, and 11 0 which I think is November '50.
Since my serial number begins with 419xxx and the last serial # of 1951 was began with 442xxx, that seems to point to a late in the year '51 manufacture date which agrees with the hyd pump date.
Any help on those trumpet codes and front axle codes would be appreciated. I'm just trying to pinpoint Nellie's birthday a little better.
Any other places I can look for casting codes? tranny?
