I would say it does , I had to get on the 8n tonite, we have had non stop rain here in upstate ny for a few days now, we put up a new house here last year, KNOCK WOOD, the basement is dry, a little damp on the edges, but I can handle that, BUT. I had flooding coming off the hill from behind the house, started flooding the driveway,on one side, and started going towards the septic on the other side of the house, "we have been here 15 yrs, we put the new house behind the old one sort of, but we never had this kind of flooding before, NO trouble, I had teh 8n in the barn yard with the terracer blade already hooked , cleaning the barn last week,or was it 2,,got on the tractor pouring rain whirled right over first rev, and went to work, it was happy I was WET,,about an hour later I had the water flowing away from the septic into the big field, and then went to work on the driveway, I got that flowing into the drainage to the road, and what a water fall we have now, there is flooding and roads closed , so I did ok, am I complaining, NAH, it was fun, my wife just said to me you picked the right ttractor for the job, she was right it was nice and handy, didnt need the bigger ones, the 8n made me proud, just wanted to share, pat-- dry finally,

Sheesh, Pat, you guys out east sure are getting hit hard. Great Deluge of "06. Glad that the 8N was ready to go and saved the septic system and the driveway from the torrents.

And stay dry!

Colin

I was also in some of that rain. I have my land in the town of Herkimer and was there from Friday thru Monday. Friday/Saturday/Sunday were beautiful. On Sunday I had a lot of seat time with my Cub cutting the high grass(with a sickle mower) Really enjoyed it a lot. But on Monday I left for home(in NYC) and got swamped on the thruway. What town are you in that got so much water. It can't be too close to Herkimer.

Joe it sounds like you do a similar commute to me. My place is in Andes. Monday we got blasted the rivers were up to the top of their banks, it wouldn't take much more.

I'm located outside of norwich ny, between binghamton and utica, not too far from you in herkimer, I guess they just said another 1 to 3" more inches tonite. I just got a call from my tenant in one of our rental houses thats near the river, the water table must be really high, I guess the water is almost up to the water heater,, gonna check it out in the morning, hope it blows a breaker if it gets too hi, I will have to see why the sump pump aint working, the news says this is record flooding, have a good one, pat

Low lying areas are always prone to heavy rains and this much rain can cause havoc. My mland is way up on a hill. The land just across from me is a little higher than mine with a road in betwee us. That keeps the water away from me. Behind the trailer the land goes down hill to a brook which is a long way down the steep ravine. The closest road crossing culvert is 800 feet away and that's good enough. Hope you can keep everything dry and safe in your homes.

I heard about the flooding in NY tonight on the local news. They said it was a 300 year flood - what a storm! I am glad to hear the 8N was up to the task and holding it's own - and that you and your family are ok.

Hang in there,
Dan
