2 cycle engine gas fouls plugs?

I'm hoping this is the case. I ran out of gas last week at the neighbor's, and he gave me some two cycle to get home. My N ran fine on it...a little rough, but I made it home just fine. Today (week later), it was pretty gutless, and threatened to die under a light load.

I took the carb off and cleaned it out, cleaned rotor and inside dist. cap, and replaced the plastic fuel filter with a metal one (since it was near the manifold).

It ran a little better, and I did a little more work, but it's about 33% of its normal power.

Neighbor said the 2 cycle gas might foul the plugs. Is this likely?

Hi Dave I agree with Ron I did the same thing to my Jeep once and fouled all the plugs, I didn't bother cleaning them, I just replaced em.

Very likely, I would pull them and look. That much oil in the gas could do it, quite often loss of power under load is plug or wire related. I would pull them and clean or replace. Hope it helps, RON
