Hello everyone! I wish the rain gods would slow down a so that I can play a little on my tractor... I just purchased a brand new King Kutter 6ft finish mower for the 3pt hitch. When I start mowing, I'm able to cut about 30ft or so, then the PTO disengages. I am cutting an old pasture field that has been brush hogged before, and I have the mower set as high as it will go. I know that these mowers are made to cut "GRASS" not fields, but is this a normal reaction for the PTO? How do I keep the PTO locked in?

Eric..... .theres a bearing snapring that can become dis-lodged and allow "slop" in the PTO shift rail detent. You need to consult your I&T FO-4 manual for proceedures..... .Dell

I've a 6-foot KK mower and the PTO on my 2N never kicks out -- no matter how thick the grass.

Somethings wrong here but I've never had my rear end apart so I don't have the experience you need.

A proper fix is prefered, but if you need to work it and dont have time for a repair, you might try a bungy cord to hold the PTO engage lever in place.

Works for me
