About a year ago i wrote about a problem with my 2N. It would die out after a few minutes of running when it got hot. coils, points, checked and rechecked. even put another carb on (from my 8N) and still had problem. This is after changing out fuel line incase of rust. This dieing out was bad, it wanted to die out on the road going over to one of my fields. and have cars behind me. Well, it happened one warm day last week and got to really looking when i had both tractors next to each other...
Finding: When replacing fuel line (steel brake line as it can be bent easily) was shorter than the one I put on the 8N. was coming within 1/2 inch of the manifold. when got hot would vapor lock..
Solution: To get the job done, I slit a 12 in piece of air hose and put on with some hose clamps. Problem solved. got job done. Today replace line with longer line and installed with prober clearances. Put hose and clamps in tool box for emergencies.

Recommendations: when changing fuel lines, make sure you have all the proper clearances..

Sorry about long write up. but wanted to get point across.
good luck Tom-Pa

Once you experienced vapor lock would it go away when the tractor cooled down? I am trying to troubleshoot my problem. Thanks!
