This is the most amazing find I've seen yet!! This tractor can't possibly have done much work in it's day if it still has the aluminum dash, hood, and grill! Plus, it still has the original generator! I started shivering when I saw the pictures!!! :-) This tractor NEEDS to be restored to 100% original condition! It would be a crime not to!

Can you tell us the story behind this tractor, how much was paid for it, etc...? I'm drueling right now!

What's everybody's take on the steering wheel? It's a three spoker, but everything else on the tractor is SO original! What da ya think?

Eddie:

I have several 1939 photo's of the early line 9N's and early Ferguson prototypes. These show two, possibly three types of steering wheels. From what I can tell, a three spoke wheel was used for the very early tractors, and also a steering wheel that was a 4 spoke type that seems to have the flatter type of spoke. These wheels look very similar to the Ford Model A 4 spoke wheels.

And then, there is the 4 spoke wheel that has rounder/symmetrical type spokes that Tyler recently posted a picture of.

That three spoke wheel posted on this 9N145 is also seen on some of the early Ferguson prototypes as Ford and Ferguson were negotiating designs and formulating their partnership.

9N #145
I am the Parts Manager at a NH dealership. One of our salesman came across the tractor and called me knowing that I like the N's. He stated that it had a funny hood. That night I tracked it down and when I saw the serial # I started foaming at the mouth. The tractor was along the road for sale. Took three agonizing weeks to finally get to run the tractor. Purchased last weekend for $3000 plus implements, most are ferguson. I will restore the tractor to original condition and I am looking at hopefully an original seat and smooth axles this morning. Thanks go to Cliff for posting the pictures, he is a customer of mine.
