I know this question has been asked a thousand times. I know I have posted pictures in the past, but I can't do it now. This is what I tried:
1) posted picture in parts and pcs, and it worked--although, very small.
2) I copied the address
3) I pasted the address in the "Optional Image URL"
4) all I could get was the red x

Posting a pic is easy.. first you have to have the pic hosted on a internet server somewhere... It is usually just as easy to use the hosting service here, though you can use any site who's URL isn't restriced either by this site, or in return restricts access to the file.. If you choose to host it here, look over on the left side and there will be a couple different photo galeries.. choose one that is suitable.. you will then be given step by step instructions on how to upload the photo.. you will provide soe data about the photo, etc.. and then select it and it will be uploaded... this will take a few seconds. Also.. keep in mind that pic size is probably limited. Once uploaded you can view it to see that it is correct. At this point, right click on the pic, and choose properties.. highlight the URL address with your left mouse button and cursor.. hit CTRL-C to copy that info to your clipboard ( if mac.. do whatever to save copy for paste later ). Go ahead and click ok to let the photo hit the gallery. That last sequence works from other hosting sites too.. just get the URl the same way. No go back to the disscussion area and post a message. At the bottom you will saee a optional image URL area.. place your cursor there and left click.. now you can paste with CTRL-v.. The URL will look something like this. for example:

Link

This will show a pic of my 8n and NAA.

Post your message as normal.. in the preview window after submitting, you should be able to see the pic.

Sounder,

Thanks for your help. The mistake I was making was not getting the url from the properties of the picture.

Now, how do I resize the picture???? I think I know the answer to this one....parts and pieces limits the size, so I need to have a different posting/hosting site.

Thanks again,
Fessman

Well.. my pic was 344x258 at about 21k

Your pic is 281x258.. at about 19k.

If you are using xp, I believe there is a pic resizer.. or if you have any photo editing software that may do it.

Do a properties on your pic locally and see what it comes up as..

Also.. while this may not help.. if you have a file that needs to be limited in size.. you can try to include it using html tags.. and in those tags you can specify pic geometry limits.. etc..

Sounder,

Locally the pic size was 1200 x 1100 (something like that) and the file size was 131kb. So when I uploaded it to the parts & pcs it was resized. I'll have to do some experimenting with loading onto other sites to see if the file size is changeable.

Try resizing the pic to less than 100k before you post.
