Hi Tom: There's at least three types of manufactured swinging drawbars, and one home-made one that I know of. The only thing is, I'm not totally sure that the first two will attach to a 2N or 9N (I have an 8N). One is the Dearborn original, which also uses your existing 3-pt drawbar for support and to limit swing, the second is a generic kind that you can find today at any tractor supply place that doesn't use your 3-pt drawbar, but instead has you mount a bracket around your PTO on the axle to limit swing and add support, and then Sears sold one that will attach to pre-8N's if you can find it (I've never seen one other than in the ad below). Finally, I've included a picture of forum member Tyler Neff's 9N showing his home-made fixed drawbar. Note that this is a pre-resto pic of Tyler's 9N. It looks MUCH better today. Pictures of all four types follow:

Here's the original Dearborn type that also requires the use of your 3-pt drawbar:

Here's the generic type that FNH and most every tractor supply house sells. Since this one does not need your 3-pt drawbar, you can leave it installed all the time and still have use of a 3-pt implement while it's on the tractor:

And here's what the one sold by Sears back then looks like:

Here's Tyler's home-made job:

Hope this helps..... ..... Ed

Tom, I think Ed Gooding of this board is the guy to talk to about this. He has posted some pictures a number of times about this subject, If you search the archieves date 01/11/01 you will find a picture of this kind of set-up.

TOM, THERE IS A SETUP FOR A SOLID DRAWBAR THAT MOUNTS UNDER AND AROUND THE PTO SHAFT. IF NONE OF THE GURU'S ON THE BOARD ANSWER IN THE NEXT DAY OR SO I WILL TRY TO TAKE PIX AND POST. NOT SURE WHERE YOU GET THEM BUT MY 8N HAS HAD ONE FOR AS LONG AS I HAVE OWNED IT.
