After trying for days I cant get the front axel king pin to move at all. I've hammered, tryed a punch with a 5lb hammer, liquid wrench, and still nothing. What do I do now?

Thanks Matt

Matt, did you take the bolt out? It's on the front of the king pin & bolts to the motor mount. I didn't even try to get mine out w/o removing the axle; I just supported the axle on wood blocks, soaked the kingpin in PB Blaster a few times, and a couple of good whacks w/ the BIG hammer, and out it came. But, getting the new one in was a huge problem. Before you start, make sure the new bushing fits the new kingpin! If the new kingpin will not slide into the new bushing OFF the tractor, it damn sure won't once you drive that new bushing into the axle!

Matt, if you can remove the front axle assembly and lay it down so you can get in behind the kingpin with a steel pipe or similar drift tool and hit it hard with a sledge hammer it will drive out; unless it is welded in as Rob mentioned.

Sometimes it takes a lot of persuasion to overcome 50 + years of rust and corrosion on some of these components. HTH. Rick H. Ga.

I already have the front axle off and have tryed to hammer it out with a sledge, but it did not move at all.

Thanks Matt

Breakfree CLP. Or a bigger hammer.

I had to remove the axle support and drive the pin out from the back side. It isn't welded in is it?
I believe that if I had straightened the axle support first the pin would have come out easier. The support was bowed out in the middle front and put the pin in a bind. It looked like the pin was like 3/16" short for the arbor but it was a bow in the support.
Get some "Breakfree CLP" in the WalMart sporting goods with the gun cleaning stuff. That will do better than Liquid Wrench.
