Got my far. Got 'er runnin' Had a small celebration. Now what ?

She's smooth enough but drags under load (disc) I suspect seals, valves, rings, maybe carb.

What would some of you old hands suggest as the next step ? I would like to kick back and work her a little before I get into tires, brakes and an engine rebuild.

Again, thanks for the help.

What Dell said. Also, check carb adjustment again. If it's getting plenty of gas then make sure the governor is properly adjusted. If it won't adjust, it may be worn enough to merit rebuilding. If the governor is OK, how about the advance?

Aye,..... the sweet putty-putty-putt-putt sound of success..... the celebration..... a little bubblie for the tractor lad..... ..ana round of Coors Lite for everyone and Berts payin' (grin) Watch out, here comes Dave#1 and his thirsty crew.

Tomorrow, when yer eyes clear, now that ya' gotts it runnin' good, a good tune-up seems to be in order.

Remember, yer ol' 2N's engine is only 120 cu in, thats as in 2000 cc or 2 liters as in Volkswaggon size. Unlike the VW's 160 hp, the ol'Ns about 20 hp. So you may need to recalibrate the ol'seat-of-pants feeling for 20 hp. Runn it a while, get used to it.

But if you really got to know, a dry and then wet compression test will give you a pretty good picture of the health of your N's engine. Then report back to this great N-Board to confirm your suspicions. Good Luck..... .Dell
