I have a loose crank pully. I`m told its held in place by a 15/16 nut. Guess what? Mine ain`t got no nut! Any help or advice would be a boon to an old dazed and confused towboater.

Does it have a slotted head like for a really large screwdriver? If so then it is for the front pump adapter for the shaft. The crank pully will have 4 bolts where the adapter bolted on over the top of the "screwhead". I had a bugger of a time getting mine out and finally got it with a big old screwdriver and lots of PB Blaster.

Cap'n..... ..the N-Pulley is held on the end of the crankshaft by a ratchet "CrownHead" bolt. (for handcrank starting) p/n 2N-6319-0A1, 5/8-18 X 1 5/16 hex, 1" long. The pulley has a keyed hub. Torque 150 ft/lbs.

When I replaced my bent sheetmetal pulley with a billet lathe turned pulley, I used a 5/8-18 X 1" grade 8 bolt and flat washer.

TIP: stuff a 1/4" soft clothesline rope (line) down any sparkie hole and when you tighten down on your bolt, the piston will be stopped by the rope, and you will have enuff purchase to eather tighten or loosen 150 ft/lbs..... .....Dell
