I recently rebuilt the rear axles on my 48 8N. It has been about 2 months and no leaks yet, thanks to all the insight from this board. After that project was complete I noticed that the left brake pedal rubs on the head of a bolt going into the transmission on the right hand side of the tractor when the brake is fully released. Apparently it has been doing this for a long time as there is a lot of wear on the bolt head. (tractor had been neglected for many years) My question is: does this mean that there are possibly some bushings which need replacing or is the pedal bent? It doesn't appear to be bent. Any one else experience this?

Yep ! The brake shaft is probably somewhat worn like mine on my 8N. It'll move back and forth through the housing a bit and rubs some. I'm planning to ignore it unless it seems to be causing a problem. If I think of it I put a little grease on it when I've got some on my finger from lubing the tractor to minimize the wear. Not anything to lose any sleep over.
