After chiming in here for the last 4 years, I figured it was time to let you guys see what I look like.

My mom took this shot while I was delivering some sod I dug up from my yard. She cut the front of the tractor off.....she just doesn't understand!

And then she took this one with the light all wrong. But it does show what a stringbean I am (6'6", 180 lbs). That's my dad next to me. He turned 80 last December.

And that's soda pop in my hand..... honest!

That's it. No great insights or deep questions.

As you were..... .....

Jim, don't blame Mom cause you failed to give her proper instructions, hehehe!
The tractor looks great, and more importantly so does Dad, Mine will be 83 this august, and he can't really climb on the tractors anymore (we still have his 9N) so last year my wife bought a new riding mower that was pretty much "pop sized" now he does a different kind of mowing, but it keeps him off the streets LOL enjoy them while you can.
Later
Ron
PS now about your choice of beverage!!!!!

Jim: Good picture. But, aren't you supposed to be working the tractor and not relaxing on it? tom

Great photos Jim!
I guess we now can tell which one of you is Lumpy.
My dad used to call a man your size a "Tall drink of water".
Happy tractoring,
Jerry

Hi Jim,

I enjoyed the pics. Looks like a real nice NAA/600 (?). I noticed the rear axels didn’t have the big hub nut so it must be a hundred series.

It’s also good to see you with your dad. Spend as much time with him as you can. My dad passed away in September 1996. He was 65 years old and a heavy smoker all of his life.

You know, its kind of funny; I bought my property and tractor when I was 20 years old. Soon after, my dad bought a 6-acre plot and I let him use my 8N and brush hog. He decided he wanted his on tractor so I helped find a nice Ford 3000. My mom still uses the 3000 to keep the 6 acres mowed. She turned 67 this month. Rick H. Ga.

It's an 800...850 to be exact. I like it a lot. Would be nicer if it were an 860...especially when baling, but I was an inexperienced tractor buyer and didn't know. Still, I've learned to adapt...and I got it for only $2500.

Dad was never a smoker and quit beer when he was 35 or so. Ran every other morning, 5 miles or so....10 on Saturday. Ran marathons into his 60's. Retired early at 62 and promptly had a massive heart attack. Has had quadruple bypass surgery twice since then.....so you never know. Life ain't always fair. You take care of yourself and there's still no guarantee.

God bless you and your Dad...A lot of people wish when they hit 80, that they are on this side of the turf....LOL....
Hey those rims do not look original, and they are rusting again? What do you put into your tires sulfuric acid?
Happy Motoring
Claus

Whatever is in those tires was in there when I bought it 4 years ago. You're right, though, new rims are definitely in my future. That's why I'd like to find a local set of pie weights. I don't want to pay freight on something like that. At the very least, I'll go with RV antifreeze or something less corrosive.
