The front kingpin in my 9N was shot so I replaced it and also put in a new bushing. Now the things creaks and groans something terrible whenever it pivots at all. I did notice that one of my radius rods is bent. Now that I have a tight fit is the bent radius rod causing a binding condition?

Mark,

Usually creaking indicates a binding condition. Jack up the front of the tractor until the front wheels are off the ground a few inches. You should be able to swing the axle assembly effortlessly like a see-saw. The radius rods should keep the front axle parallel to the rear axle through the see-saw motion. If it is working right, it should be real smooth.

Also this is a good time to check and see if the front axle can hit your front mount distributor.

P.S. Dont grease it or crud will soon destroy the sleeve.

Joe
