There was a couple of 8N's in the local trader magazine that comes out every week. The same man had them, one he was asking $800 "running but needed some work", the other is $1500 "runs and looks good". I called and the $800 one was sold already. I was going to try $500. He still has the other one so I might go take a look at it Sat morning. It is a bit more than I would like to spend on another, but if it is in good enough shape I might just bite the bullet and buy it. Don't need another one but you fellows know how this sickness is. Somebody please help Me, I don't have My first 8N finished yet and looking another. HELP!!!!

Jim

Just my luck. I didn't know this was a disease. I figured it out one day and if my calculations were correct, Ford made a little over 750,000 of the N tractors. I know that some have gone to the big tractor heaven, but there should be enough to go around. I see several advertised every week in the local bulletin, but that doesn't keep the price down. My first is a 9N and I just bought a 2N. Uh-Oh, after I restore the 2N to its original gray, could it be a red one is in the future. My wife wanted me to paint the 2N with a red belly because she said she liked the red. Maybe I just laid the ground work for an 8N in a couple years and I didn't realize it. TJ from GA

I just wish the desease was not so contagious. There would be more N's for a real serious sicky, like me, to buy. If you are lloking for sympathy, look in the dictionary in the "s" section between suicide and syphalis. ;>) You won't get any from here.

I just bought my first 8N last weekend - haven't even sat behind the wheel yet. The son-in-law hauled it home while I went back to the city. Tomorrow's the day!

Well let Me tell ya start saving your money because they are like a Lays potato chip "you can't have just one". You'll get this sickness too, and there ain't no cure(to My knowledge). Hope your wife is as forgiving as mine.

50 Fords 1939-1964 aprox 45 ready for days work! Talk about drugs I needed a "fix" so bad 2 weeks ago I bought a Ferguson TO 35! Any way it is a great hobby, lots of fun to find, listen to the stories, learn and meet great people. And there is a diff. however small, from year to year, I find the auctions great fun. One thing I find interesting is the preceived value of these tractors by so many people. When buy at auction I usually get the tractor the worst I have paid is about 5% over my assessment. But if you know your tractors and have your homework done and bid strong and fast most others will give up to soon. Just my idea of tractor collecting. BURT.
