So there I was just disc'n away (Comforted in the knowledge gained from those who gave me advice a few days ago) when all-a-tha-sudden...I raised the lift, it wouldn't lift all the way up. Now mind you I knew right away there was a problem when the tail end was draggin on the ground, I aint stupid ya know...no comments are necessary here... It took me a minute to figure out the problem was not the tractor but as you see here, there is a minor problem with the disc. I had added some weight...I didn't think too much, but on reflection maybe just a little too much. I think it gives it more of an aerodynamic look dont you?

I had 2 railroad ties on mine. When I got a bottom plow Took the extra weight off. The disk really wasn't doing a whole bunch even with the weight. But it works fine without weight when the 2 bottom plow is used first.

I had two 11.2-28 tires mounted on rims affixed to the top of the disc. They were NOT filled maybe weighed less than 100 lbs total?

Man! If you don't mind I think I'll take your pix to Leinbach in Winston Salem, NC and ask for an opinion. I won't mention the added weight. I want(ed) the disk you have or the next one up that is ajustable. I vacilate because the adjustable is of the sealed bearing non-greasable type.

I would wonder how much weight too, I have a bigger one than that and the tractor pulls it fine, but the mounting iron look ALOT BEEFIER,, could it be this thing is not too strong,, I would think the main beem that hooks to the 3 point should handle more weight and abuse than that shows,,, I dont know how much weight I have on mine but it is old steel railroad tracks,, 4 of them. just interested. pat

The track used on the Erie-Lackawanna RR weighed 33 lbs to the foot. I believe this was a standard. They made good anvils. Rich

Just guessing, how much weight did you add? The disk you have is one of two that I was concidering.
