I'm guessing that the left side running board on the jubilee is also the tool box right? Least it looks so on mine.. or at least whats left of my left side running board.

If so anyone got one the wish to part with? Or know where i can get one?

thanks

Jess, Just how practical is it to have the tool box under the foot board. I plan on fabricating some foot boards for my 9N and had thought about
incorperating the tool box with it. Doe's it collect a lot of mud off you're boots etc. Dave <*)))><

Dave, It is not very practical. I have had my Jub since 1980. I find the tool box is always full of sand and chad of some kind. The chad holds the moisture and IMO this is what rusted them out. Lets face it there is no way to keep the trash out of a tool box in that position on a working tractor. Not one of Ford's better ideas. I still like my Jub.

Dave
I was using the blade down at the pond today. I had mud flying every where. But there was no mud on the running board. Well maybe a few clumps. The most I get on or in the running board is dust and weed seeds during the summer when I'm mowing. The only mud I got on my tractor and running boards was when I went down the drive way in 4th to clean the tires. I have some wrenches and screw drivers and a sack of Bolts I use as shear pins for the brush hog in the Tool Box. The sack stays dry. I'm pretty happy with it.

Have a Great Day

I am in the process of fabricating a new box for my NAA. The running board was there, but the box was rusted completely out. I have fabricated a new box out of stainless (I don't want to have to do this again). I need to cut the old one out and get the new one welded in. I also need to fabricate a new top and hinges out of a 8N running board. One of these days I will get it finished.

The tool box is very hard to come by. I just went through a rebuild of mine. I can see where you could take a footrest from an 8N and modify it with hinges and a box to come up with a very close match.

I have a Jubilee, and it had no remaining tool box on the running board. Since I became involved in N's I have probably looked at 100 NAA's in the last few years (OK, I got a little obsessed with my NAA, alright? Is that so wrong? :) ) And I have never seen one with a true, intact running board and tool box. Every single one is either rusted away, or someone welded a plate on top of the the big hole that's left when it all rusts away. But I live in NY, where they salt like crazy. So maybe in the south, you'd have a better shot. But I'm thinking they are like hen's teeth, until someone makes a replacement.

When I got my Jubilee over thirty years ago, the tool box was just a memory, however the lid was like new. Was able to get some dimensions and had one fabricated. I can't weld either, so I used some small bolts and bolted it in place. There is also a possibility that there may be some reproductions available. Check with don b.

Will the running board from an 8N fit?

Thanks,

I just pulled the tool box off my Jubilee to repair a rust hole in the bottom and bolted an 8N running board on it until the original is repaired. Fits perfectly. Looks to me like the regular 8N running board was modified in '53 to make the Jubilee toolbox running board.

Yes, the left running board was also the tool box. I believe the 8N board will fit but I have never tried it. As for a good tool box...you and several thousand other owners of NAA tractors are looking. There was a post not too long ago by an owner who has been looking for about 5 years.
If an 8N will fit your NAA, would you be willing to trade your old board with rusted out tool box for it?

Yeah.. but it isn't much more than a frame... though still supports weight to get on and off the tractor.

I'll post a pic later when i run by the house for lunch.

Is this machine already has a 12v conversion, I am going to be less attentive to "correct" and authentic replacements ( as I was on my all stock 8n ). This one I just want to dress back up, redo the wiring, fix the body work, and repaint.

Wish I was handy at welding.. but I'm just a solder guy... perhaps some brazing.. but no exp. welding.
