For those who enjoy kids and their logic here is a discussion my 5 year old boy and I just had about two minutes ago (while I sit at the computer and he sits at the table eating his cereal).

"Daddy, The sun is reflecting the light on the moon because it is a big light bulb and if you pull the string down it turns the light on the moon...and then light bulb makes it shinier instead of the sun. It is a big giant light bulb and it turns the "Reflect" on and all of the light from the sun turns on the moon....

My reply: Hunter, the sun is on all of the time...

BUT Daddy, (interrupting me) if you stand too close to the sun you will turn into a french fry and all of the people will you eat you up...and you will die"

That's it from this ktchen here in New Hampshire.

One time I had some dogs for sale. The first guy that showed up picked his out and ask if i could hold it till X-mas. About 3 weeks away. I said no But if he would like to make a deal with my son they may work something out. My son agreed to look after the dog for 20.00 and he had to pay in advance. When the money was changing hands I told my son that I would hold it untill the dog was picked up. Well after a week you guessed it I was feeding and watering the dog. I asked him what the deal was, did he not wan't the 20.00. He said you keep it. That money is no good. No good I said, what you mean. He said you will not let me spend it so what good is it to me. From that time on I let him have part of the money he maid to blow as he pleased. With out a worrie in the world I think he was right. Just never thought about it that way. The way kids look at money.

When my daughter (who is now 23, graduated from college with an English degree, writing for a magazine, writing a novel) was very young, we were teaching her the alphabet. She must have been 3 years old.

One day we were eating breakfast and happened to be eating Post Alpha-Bits. I thought this would be a great teaching moment so I fished around in my bowl until I found an "A", picked up in my spoon and showed it to her.

"Look, Kimberly! What's this?" Expecting her to make the connection and announce that it was indeed an "A". Instead she gave me a look of condescending disgust as if I were as stupid as Homer Simpson and said "cereal".

When my son was about 4 years old, we went to an ATM. After I put the card in and the money popped out, my son said, "Dad, we need one of these in the basement!". The guy in line behind us laughed and said, "So do I!"

Kids are GREAT (most of the time)!

Moments like that can oddly enough make life so clear. Enjoy every second!

While at a sporting goods store the clerk asked my 2 1/2 year old son "Where does the big buck live?" My son said "In the back of Daddy's truck!"

God bless him!
