Any suggestions? I gotta take it into town to get the 1/2" x 4" stock rear flip blade welded together.

Put wood ramp on the bed and push it up with my rear scoop?

thanks,
Dave

Like the others said, get yourself a 3-point boom.
In this pic you can see the 3-point boom I built, I got fancy and made mine telescopic, If I had it to do over again I think I would of just bought one, they can be had for about $100.00 I can say that it's one of the most usefull tools I have, I've used it to load my one bottom plow and my 6'finishing mower on my truck, I used it to set 18-6"x6"x16' poles for a pole barn that I built a few years back, I've picked up V-8 engines, ect.ect.

Hope this helps

later,dave

Wouldn't it be easier to look up a welding outfit with a portable welder?????

I paid about $65 for my 3 pt boom pole and wouldn't be without it. It's great for cutting fire wood even.

How come I can't find a boom pole at that price?!?!?

I've never seen a used one around here (in New Hampshire) and the new ones at the tractor places around me are around $200, although the dealer is always quick to point out, "It's heavy duty!"... not sure I actually need a heavy duty boom pole for an 8N.

I've seem them at that price mail order, but the shipping costs crank the price right back up there.

I got a standard or light duty one from my local New Holland dealer for about $65 and have lifted logs with it that has lifted the front of the tractor off the ground, which is why I bought front wheel weights for it.

Yeah I know its dangerous Etc,,,,,...

I used a $20 come-a-long and a rafter in my carport. You could probably push it in with the scoop if you had someone drive the tractor and you lifted and guided the front ( or side) of the blade. Might be a little hard on the tailgate if something went wrong!

Know anyone with a boom Pole? I have one and have lifted quite a few things. I would think it would be able to do the job with out a problem.

p.s. if this is the dave in Grass Valley I could help you out..

One day my son drove in with a 3 pt. boom in his truck. He unloaded it and said "You owe me $50.00." I told him, "I never said I wanted one of those." He said, "I bought it right and it will come in handy." So I paid him, wondering when I would ever use it. A few days later, it was "just the ticket" for lifting out the radiator on a JD 70. (Anyone ever done a radiator on one of these tractors? Whew...) Anyway, I can't tell you how many times since then we have used that boom. They work even better on a tractor with live hydraulics.

Throw a rope over a tree. Hook N to one end. hook box scraper to other end. Drive tractor. drive pick-up. Lower box blade into truck with N. Go to town!
